Out of Pocket Costs

Out of Pocket Costs, for purposes of the Out of Pocket Cost Calculator, refers to the amount you must pay a hospital for your hospitalization, as opposed to what your health plan pays the hospital from your plan coverage. Out of Pocket Costs include: your Deductible requirements; any applicable copays or coinsurance requirements that you must pay; any hospital services or charges that exceed any plan coverage limitations such as a Non-Participating Hospital Maximum Allowable Per Day; and any hospital services excluded from coverage by the plan.
